Sažetak
FabLab.HR is an organization dedicated to the promotion of digital fabrication, founded in 2013. It is a member of the international FabLab organization, founded upon the ideas of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Digital fabrication includes the use of electronic tools and software in DIY activities, i.e., constructing models, devices, or other small-scale objects. For Design District Zagreb, the members of FabLab have prepared a wide-ranging workshop program, and anyone interested will be able to learn the basics of digital fabrication and discover the joy of the contemporary makers’ culture, using various tools and techniques. — Workshop #1: Analog Production (duration: 4 h) The attendees will, alongside the hosts, work with common and known analog devices and materials in completely new ways, having the choice between Styrocut (a Styrofoam workshop) and Termoforming (the use of termoforming for shaping objects — using heat to reshape plastic). — Workshop #2: Digital Production (duration: 6 h) Having perfected their analog techniques, the attendees will be given a chance to handle tools that many talk about, yet few have worked with – 2D laser and 3D printer! The former will be used to prepare models for laser cutting and engraving, as well as the latter, but in three dimensions. This will allow some insight into the capabilities of modern technology. — Workshop #3: Jump 2-3D (duration: 4 h) Are you ready to finally make the jump from two into three dimensions, using digital software? Of course you are, and the hosts will show you the basics of working in a 3D space on a computer and how to create 3D models for digital production. This is how we close the circle of learning the basic skills of digital fabrication. — Workshop #4: Idea2Product > Start Global Now (duration: 4 h) Finally, why not capitalize on what’s pleasing and useful? With a good idea and the skill of making 3D models, start working today for the global market using digital factories. The hosts are here to push you into the water, and, once you learn how to swim, you will never forget.
