Sažetak
Protective and marine coatings are used at high film thicknesses or high build shape for the purpose of supply exceptional stability and resistance to especially corrosive environments. They are divided into protective coatings (on-shore structures) and marine coatings (off-shore constructions). The top coat on a marine system should be resistant to mechanical or chemical damages. Scratch is a main factor in starting corrosion on the metal surfaces, and it is important in these surfaces to improve surface slip and scratch resistance. Useful substrate in maritime industry is steel. The formulation of scratch resistance coating is depending not only on the suitable basic material (resin, pigment, solvent) but also on the proper additives. In this article, we provide the solution how suitable resistance coating can be achieved by selecting the proper scratch resistance additive. The result will be improved with micronized wax on the basis of a PTFE-modified PE for solvent-borne coating systems.
