Sažetak
The aim of this research is to show the degree of orthographic and morphological adaptation of English loanwords in fashion terminology in Croatian language. The corpus for analysis has been collected from four different fashion magazines, three of which are Croatian editions of international magazines Cosmopolitan, Grazia and Elle, and one is originally Croatian - Diva Style. The orthographic and morphological analysis of the chosen corpus was carried out according to the theory of Rudolf Filipović. In order to conduct the analysis, it was necessary to compare the orthographic and morphological systems of both languages and classify the selected anglicisms into categories according to which they have adapted on both levels. What has finally been concluded is that recent borrowings tend to retain the original orthography and pronunciation, adapting only to the morphological rules of our language. On the other hand, already established anglicisms are generally fully adapted to both orthographic and morphological rules of Croatian language.
