Sažetak
By passing the tradition down to the youngest generation, we keep the traditional culture alive, providing for the overall preservation of traditional heritage. There is no epoch in the history of art that could be imagined without the elements of folklore, although its representation has at certain periods been rather negligable. There are many important works of art which are based precisely on the folklore elements. Therefore, if we are willing to get to know and become emotionally involved in the rhythm and the overall artistic creation of a certain place, we should take a closer look at the atmosphere and the 'psychology' of this specific place, of the people who live there, as well as of the natural surroundings we are part of. Folklore does not impose dogmas and regulations, it allows complete freedom of the artist in its creation and interpretation. The most efficient way of preserving the traditonal elements is precisely through passing it on to the the youngest generation – on children. Thus, we believe that the useful method and solution would be incorporating a diversity of activities into the educational curriculum regarding the artistic field, and these activities would include: different songs for children, games that include singing, traditional customs and clothes, and finally, traditional dances.
