Sažetak
This abstract represents the first attempt to study cortical myelination in vivo in the neonatal brain using MRI-derived contrasts. The results show a general trend of increase of the myelin content with the increase in age. This is expected, since myelination is a process that occurs in the neonatal period. Further, results show strong agreement of the myelinated regions in the neonatal brain with the ones in the adult template. This suggests that T1w/T2w ratio is useful for non-invasively estimating cortical myelin content in a neonatal brain.
