Sažetak
The aim of the study was to asses the role of MRI in evaluation of acute and chronic pain in young athletes. The complex anatomy in the groin region and various pathological conditions make physical examination of this region unspecific. But correct diagnosis is required to ensure that proper treatment is started so that athletes may be optimally rehabilitated and returned to sport in a timely fashion. The MR imaging provided information which is not available at clinical examination: exact location of the problem, if lesion is located in muscles and tendons, bursas or joint, if there is any cartilage or bony lesions. MRI findings significantly correlate with symptoms and MRI is valuable method for evaluating groin pain in young athletes.
