Sažetak
Flexographic printing is one of the driving printing technologies thanks to the wide range of applicable substrates and digital printing plate making technologies. the printed quality in flexographic printing is highly influenced by the printing plate characteristics. The quality of print could be influenced by the printing process (printing speed and pressure), but on the other hand by the selection of substrate, ink and anilox roller. Although all of the mentioned factors have some influence on the quality of the print, the primary factor determining print quality was and still is the plate making technology. The analogue plate making procedure (copying the motive from a film) is unable to meet the higher quality requirements, thus digital printing plate making technologies are more and more preferred. The use of digital plates has significantly improved the quality of the flexographic printing. Standard digital plates can result with two types of printing elements: round or flat top dots. Dot shape has a profound effect on print appearance. A hot topic in the packaging market today is whether to use digital plates with round or flat top dots, as both of them have their respective advantages. In this research we examined parameters of the digital flexo plates were made using different technologies and their influence on the print quality. Our aim was to determine, how the different plate making technologies, which have different dot shapes affect the key parameters of flexographic printing.
