Sažetak
Fluorocarbon (FC) polymer is characterized by extremely low surface tension and high stability. Due to the perfluorinated hydrocarbon group in FC resin secondary structure, it may form a film on the cotton fabric surface the stage of condensation, resulting in the high water- and oil-repellency. However, FC resin condensation is usually performed at high temperature (>160 °C), what is economically unfavourable in terms of energy, and leads to cotton fabric damage. The aim of this thesis was to achieve permanent cotton oil- and water-repellency by low-temperature FC resin curing (120 °C). For that purpose, three flourcarbon resins by Textilcolor (Swiss) were applied to cotton fabrics. Aqueous preparation of polymer waxes was added as extender to FC resin, and aliphatic polyisocyanate as low-temperature activator. The different applied treatments should present oil- and water-repellency as less damage upon the fibre than conventional treatments. It has been demonstrated that durable oil- and water- repellency can be achieved with low-curing temperature FC. It is to point out that best results were achieved at low-temperature curing, being the application of this chemical a source of energy savings and lower fibre damage.
