Sažetak
Aim examination of presence of risik factors for developing coronary hearth disease, the level knowledge and stance about risik factors, behevior that contributes to the quality of life of patients after percutaneous coronary intervention, and influence of the level of education and age behavior. Methods The sampling involved 50 respondents (37 males and 13 females, aged from 35 to 70 years)who have undergone a percutaneous coronary intervention and had been coming for control examination to the Cardiovascular Department of the University Hospital Center of Osijek. A questionnaire with 40 questions was used as a survey instrument was. The survey was conducted in the period between 14 November and 5 December 2007. Descriptive statistics and differences between categorial variables were tested X2 test, significance level was set at 0.05. Results Most respondents had secondary education, 21 (56.8), and most employed, 22 (44%), were aged 41-50. A significant difference in the type of interrupted activity due to illness according to the age was noted (p=0.028). A drop in confidence was noted in 11 (50%) respondents with secondary education. Younger respondents belived that their illness had affected their careers. Nine (20.9%) patients reported sexual dysfunction as one of the impacts on their private life. In respondents with lower Professional qualification there was no change or the cessation of alcohol drinking. Conclusion The risik factors for developing coronary heart disease was noted. The attitudes of respondents were not in accordance with the knowledge about risik factors indicating the need for education regardless of gender, age and education level.
