Sažetak
We study double (and single) ionization of He-like atoms from their ground state by absorption of a single photon at intermediate (around 1 keV and above for He) incident photon energies. Using our AFT approach we are able to identify the dominant correlation effects which determine the total cross sections and the ratio of double to single ionization in this energy range. We can explain the relatively slow convergence of the double to single shake--off ratio (despite the cancellation of the Stobbe factor) to the SO limit. In addition, this analysis, going beyond a C3 description of the final three particle continuum, identifies the monopole e-e interaction in C3 as the leading (although relatively small, at the considered energies) erroneous term in the C3 description. This analysis may also be of interest for scattering processes.
