Sažetak
The presentation focuses on the exponential growth of bark beetle populations in the 2014 ice storm affected forests of Gorski kotar. All the bark feeding bark beetles have started to buildup in 2015, especially the spruce, pine and silver fir feeding species. In the 2016, a buildup of xylophagous bark beetles and other timber feeding insects is foreseen among which, a mountain ash (Fraxinus excelsior) will suffer additional blow, already been heavily affected with the new fungal pathogen, Hymenoscyphus fraxineus.
