Sažetak
Revision of the ICC Rules and Swiss Rules, as well as the rules on the accelerated arbitral proceedings inspired by the ideas about increasing the effectiveness of arbitral proceedings seek to find appropriate solutions for rendering an award as soon as possible. In that course, basic postulates of the principle of hearing the parties and the party equality cannot be neglected. Different time range in which the award in the arbitral proceedings has to be rendered generally allows for an extension of the deadline for a specific reason. Therefore, the idea of this paper is to deal with the question of arbitration decision making in a specific deadline is possible and permitted, and to present respective comparative models setting a deadline for rendering of an arbitration award. In addition, this paper tries to present what would setting a time limit for arbitration proceeding in the arbitration contract mean for the arbitration court and the parties and what procedural steps for the realization of such agreements should the parties take.
