Sažetak
Following the Law on psychological practice (NN 47/2003), whereby Croatian psychologists became an independent profession, it was necessary to draw up documents determining the use of psychological tests. The formal education of psychologists includes the division of tests into most influential ones (ability tests and tests of knowledge) and ‘tests’ for the assessment of typical behaviour (inventories, questionnaires and personality assessment techniques). The second division begins with the applicability of obtained results through testing, dealing with individual, clinical-diagnostic procedures and research instruments. Article 25 of the Law introduced the term “psychodiagnostic means” as a fundamental tool enabling individual diagnosis in relation to research instruments which can be used in the collection of data reflecting the existence or development of measured phenomena. The Croatian Psychological Chamber was established as a result of the new Law, where a decision on the classification of instruments covered by the term psychological tests needed to be made. The Board of the Chamber accepted the so-called A-B-C categorization model of psychological tests. The lecture will explain the classification criteria in detail, with clarifications of research paradigms which preceded this classification.
