Sažetak
The involvement of students in the process of study programmes improvement is insufficient, both in communication with former students and in continuing and organized monitoring of their professional development. For this reason, the Faculty of Teacher Education of the University of Rijeka is a holder of the project „ Qualification Standards and Quality Improvement of Study Programmes for Preschool Educators and Teachers“, cofinanced by the European Union. The goal of the project is to improve the existing study programmes upon the completion of which the students acquire the following qualifications: teacher in primary education, bachelor of preschool educator and master of early and preschool education. The approach applied in the project is a competency-based approach, which puts the student at the centre. This project is also an opportunity for the professional development of university professors involved in the project (Teacher of Faculty Education in Rijeka and Zagreb) who work on quality improvement of higher education through the development and application of the Croatian Qualifications Framework. What is the relation between national qualifications frameworks and the learning outcomes, is there a consensus between the academic community and the labour market, are current issues at a national and European level.
