Sažetak
In 1958, Roberto Longhi wrote a short letter to the Strossmayer Galle y of Old Masters in Zagreb, Croatia, as an expression of gratitude for receiving a copy of the 1950’s edition of the catalogue of the Strossmayer Gallery’s painting collection. Tracing Longhi’s remarks about some of the catalogue entries, the author juxtaposes them with new insight into the paintings he had singled out, giving at the same time a broader context of the history and historiography of the Strossmayer Gallery’s Old Masters’ painting collection.
