Sažetak
Every successful company measures its maintenance performance in order to remain both competitive and cost effective. It is important that the company understands the need for performance measurement in order to select an appropriate set of indicators. Performance indicators should provide answers on the crucial questions – how well is the company doing and what actions should be done to improve current situation / process in order to achieve organizational goals (e.g. reduction of process time and / or cost minimization). Besides using performance metrics for process improvement, various maintenance optimization models are also developed by academics for improvement of the current process state. Based on the literature, maintenance optimization models are mainly developed for manufacturing industry and various authors have provided overview of this models. Due to that, the purpose of this paper is to give an overview on maintenance optimization models and performance metric used only in aircraft maintenance. It is not the aim to give an exhaustive overview on all published articles, but rather highlight the significance of different maintenance optimization parameters that are of any importance within this field. The most important factors that have an influence on the optimization models will be made explicit and their links will be established. Also, the correlation of the performance metrics and optimization models will be made and use of the performance indicators in optimization models for aircraft maintenance will be studied.
