Sažetak
The prosthetic rehabilitation in patients with oncologic defects of lower oral cavity is often impossible. Tongue fixation to the oral cavity floor, reduction of lingual and vestibular sulci, loss of the part of the mandible (MMR, SMR), scars and decrease of intraoral space compromise the function of speech and chewing and make the prosthetic rehablitation impossible. The aim of the preprosthetic surgery is tongue mobilisation and creation of wide denture bearing area by split thickness skin graft. 15 patients were treated with this, method and in 14 prosthetic rehabilitations were performed. In those 14 patients prosthetic rehabilitation had been done by means of dentures. The functional and esthetic qualities of dentures were evaluated by questionary about functional and cosmetic values of dentures and by measuring the lateral occlusal contacts intensity. The results are presented in graphs and show the improvement of basical oral functions - speech and chewing as well as satisfactory cosmetic effects. The results of the lateral occlusal contacts intensity show that the optimal reconstruction of occlusion has been achieved.
