Sažetak
Prosthetic therapy using complete dentures tends to compensate for functional incapacity of the stomatognathic sastem. Lower complete dentures, however, are still associated with some specific problems. In this study, differences denture support depending on the position and function of the tongue were assessed. In the same patients, plaster casts of the lower edentulous jaws were taken. Supporting areas were found to depend on the relation between the alveolar ridge the surrounding active structures, and ranged from 103.20 to 205.5 mm2, mean 145, 99 mm2. Measurements were done by Stereophotography, and analytical method quite easily related to automatic computer processing and allowing the results to be both graphically and numerically presented.
