Sažetak
Mission of EU cohesion policy is to reduce disparities between Europe’s regions by strengthening economic, social and territorial cohesion. In the process of implementation of the regional policy of the European Union, there are a number of challenges and problems that is needed to reduce to a minimum by different mechanisms of regional instruments. Every country has its own challenges and sometimes the introduced problems are the same in the countries with the similar backgrounds. This research was conducted in Croatia, Poland, Hungary and Slovenia to determine the main problems in absorption of EU funds which are the bridge to the successful and sustainable regional development.
