Sažetak
C.S. Lewis enjoyed well-deserved popularity due to the fact that he wrote one of the most popular high fantasy series, The Chronicles of Narnia (1950-1956). This paper presents the unconscious adoption of moral values subtly fostered through the use of mythology, employed within the genre of high fantasy, as opposed to deliberate adoption through lectures on morality, frequently identified with religious practice. As a result, The Chronicles of Narnia are presented as a work of fiction intended for aesthetic, rather than didactic or efferent manner of reading, due to the fact that they exhibit typical modern fantasy elements employed in post World War II fantasy literature, are read primarily for enjoyment and lived vicariously by children and adults alike.
