Sažetak
Since in contemporary "sexually differentiated societies there exists an unspoken but real obligation to be either a man or a woman, the majority of social interactions is made possible only when one is completely sure which gender the person dealt with belongs to. Identity is controlled through the stereotypes of "masculinity" and "femininity". As opposed to the transsexuals and their "finding refuge" within the confines of the "natural" by exaggerating the visual aspects of gender, transvestites have rejected the notion of a bi-gender construction of reality and proudly "abandon themselves to the joy of simulation".
