Sažetak
The geographical network of musical migrations in connection with the Croatian lands largely included neighbouring countries, prevailingly within the same cultural circle (the eastern Adriatic region communicated with the Italian lands, while Croatia Proper and Slavonia exchanged musicians with regions within the Habsburg Empire). Only the unification of the Croatian lands under the Austrian crown after 1815 enabled migrations between the central European and Mediterranean areas. Musician who came to the Croatian lands during the 18th century, as well as those who emigrated from them, did not suffer any professional problems in their musical activities, because of the international, or, supra-national musical style prevailing during that period. However, the emergence of national schools in the early 19th century has undoubtedly brought some changes in the destinations of migrations precisely in connection with the strong differentiation on the question of national identity.
