Sažetak
In today’s fast moving world, the path to efficient business operations consist of timely response to received information. Rapid development of technology has not only accelerated a way of life and business processes but also brought an arsenal of communication tools that today's business world has at its disposal. The problem occurs when one has to choose those communication tools and solutions which will assure productive, efficient and so needed timely response. The solution lies in the unification of communications into a single system that provides users with an overview of presence and availability. Unified communications systems (UC) allow users a simple, timely and reliable communication in real-time and by preferred channels, and thus reduce costs, accelerate business processes and increase the mobility, flexibility, and employee satisfaction. In this paper the concept of unified communications as a new growing trend in business is introduced and explained. The idea of unification of communications is presented, bringing its advantages and disadvantages within the company. In order to contribute and to meet the objectives, three available software solutions are shown, on whose analysis and comparison a conceptual model is developed which aims to facilitate the implementation of unified communications in companies.
