Sažetak
This paper describes methodology of coupling, modeling and analysis of thermal and magnetic field in the synchronous generator. 3D modeling and the finite element method (FEM) are used for thermal calculation. The thermal model is coupled with cooling circuit. The losses are obtained by applying an electromagnetic simulation using 2D FEM and analytical expressions. Magnetic and thermal calculations are coupled by weak coupling and are solved iteratively. This methodology is applied to the synchronous generator calculation and the calculated results show good agreement with measured values.
