Sažetak
The problem of parking with its many specifics is one of the modern phenomenons of traffic. This problem and ways of solving it differ from country to country, from city to city and from one tourist destination to another. Accordingly, the basic objective of this scientific debate is to examine and evaluate the current state of parking management in tourist destinations in the example of the town of Opatija, one of the oldest and most famous tourist destinations in Croatia. Application of scientific methodology affirmed the possibility that in small tourist towns parking capacity in the long term can increase with construction of garage-parking facilities. Results of research also suggest guidelines for more efficient parking management in tourist destinations.
