Sažetak
The purpose of paper is to analyze the relation between European Union and the countries in transition through the trade links and financial support and show what kind of solution might be chosen in the pre-accession period of Croatia to the European Union. Trade cooperation and integration of Central and East European countries in the new Europe represents an important step of these countries to gradually become full members of the EU. The membership of GATT/WTO of these countries should lead to a significant deregulation of trade. In searching for its own place in the Europe is Croatia too, with restructuring of the economy and adjustment of economic system to European standards.
