Sažetak
This research was designed to estimate the realisation of the breeding aim for the property of milk flow according to the breeding programme up to 2000 (Caput et al. 1983), as well as the possibility of improving the breeding treatments in cattle production. The investigations have been conducted at four localities, two breeds and altogether 538 cows, which were subject to 2.594 measurings. Statistical data processing has been performed by means of the SAS programme. The distribution of milk flow speed at an optimum range for the Simmenthal breed was only 38.92%, whereas for the Holstein breed it was 56.58%. For the Holstein breed a significant influence (P Ł 0.001) was estimated regarding all variability sources except the lactation stage, whereas for the Simmenthal breed the significance (P Ł 0.001) was estimated between the herd and the lactation. Correlation coefficients between milk quantity and milk flow for Holstein (rp= 0, 389) and Simmental breeds (rp= 0, 492) were positive. The corrected milk flow for the Holstein breed was 2.86 kg/min, whereas the values for the Simmenthal breed amounted to 1.94 kg/min. Results of the corrected milk flow obtained by these investigations were for both breeds higher than the values anticipated by the breeding aim for 0.66 kg/min at the Holstein breed and 0.44 kg/min at the Simmenthal breed.
