Sažetak
In modern business, the following terms are being encountered more and more frequently: internationalization, regionalization and globalization. This paper takes a look at the relationship and integral difference of the aforementioned terms. There are numerous factors that either stimulate or de-stimulate these processes. The paper categorizes the factors that influence internationalization, regionalization and globalization processes in the economy, with an emphasis on modern retail trends. One of the key trends is the internationalization of modern retail, which intensified significantly during the last decade of the last century, and which is still ongoing. Modern business technology hastens the internationalization process in the retail segment of business. We shall look at sales technology based upon self-choice and self-service, which the retail business experts claim to be the most suitable form of transfer retail technology, from developed to underdeveloped or poorly developed regions of the world. Special attention is drawn towards the influence of modern information technology on the processes of internationalization and globalization in the trading business. We shall look at the fast development of the Internet and, in this respect, e-Business and e-Commerce. It is estimated that by the end of 2004, there will be more than one billion Internet connections throughout the world. Conditions have been created for the faster development of the online market. Business people must monitor the progress of modern technologies and anticipate their influence on business. This modern electronic technology and its application in business enable the market globalization of even the smallest of companies. The significance of company size is relative as a prerequisite for ensuring the market strength that will enable its market expansion. Modern electronics technology and its application in business also make the importance of location as one of the key prerequisites for successful business relative.
