Sažetak
The subject of this research is to determine the causes that lead the company to business failures in Croatia. A lot of previous research in the world (Dun & Bradstreet's, Newton, The Bureau of Business Research of the University of Pittsburg, etc.) and domestic research (Roska) have confirmed that number-one cause was incompetence or inexperience of management. Lack of managerial skills, knowledge or experience in the identification of the causes of business failures in time are leading society straight into bankruptcy. Research is conducted via a questionnaire of accountants about the causes of business failures. The result of research confirms all domestic and foreign researches that inefficient management is the number-one cause of business failure in Croatia too.
