Sažetak
The retail trade is a very important industry in every developed country. It is an industry which belongs in the service sector of the economy and is generally based upon human labour. Research has shown that human labour in the retail trade can be substituted in lesser measure by mechanized work as compared to production, for example. We look into the various ways of automating the retail trade. We emphasize the modern forms of nonstore- retailing, such as: interactive home shopping (IHS), also known as electronic retailing, vending machine retailing and television home shopping retailing.
