Sažetak
Not much has been said or written up to now on the role and significance of tour operators on the development of tourism, particularly international tourism. Although research in this field is expanding, tour operators in their relatively short history have not been studied nearly enough. However, their significance in the development of international tourism flows over the last 50 years has grown to such an extent that we can now say that they have become economic entities that have had a large influence on the development of international tourism in many tourism desintations in the world. Because of their key role in changing the previons forms of the tourism phenomenon, tour operators have become a synonym for mass tourism. For the purpose of this study the analyses of the influence of tour operators on international flows will be illustrated by examples of the largest European tourism generating markets, the German and the British markets.
