Sažetak
Due to distinct values of cultural resources, tangible cultural heritage has been redefined with respect to assets of historical, cultural and socioeconomic relevance in modern society. Specifically designed and presented, cultural resources thus become cultural tourist attractions significant for the development of a tourism destination. The cultural heritage’s value was researched and different methods of valuing tangible cultural heritage were analysed. The value of tangible cultural heritage was estimated in order to measure the influence of such value on the economic sustainability of a tourism destination. Economic sustainability indicators were analysed and the most appropriate ones were singled out for the purpose of this research. The research resulted in an attempt to design a model of tangible cultural heritage’s influence on the economic sustainability of a tourism destination. Despite the evidence that the influence of tangible cultural heritage on the economic sustainability of a tourism destination exists, on the basis of the research results it was not possible to create a unique model applicable on each and every tourism destination and its corresponding tangible cultural heritage site. Each tourism destination is at a different stage of tourism development and cultural heritage sites should be managed accordingly.
