Sažetak
In this paper authors discuss the possibilities of making universal supranational sytem for entire European Union. First, they explain the chronological development of Union`s competences in the field of criminal law. They point the need for harmonization of criminal law within the European Union and show the existing mechanism of harmonization which was introduced by the Lisbon Treaty in 2007. After that authors analyze deficiencies of the new system and give their suggestions for improvements de lege ferenda.
