Sažetak
For the first and second-grade pupils basic anthropometric parameters, as body weight and body height, were measured with special emphasis on pupils who attend an extended stay in school. The sample of respondents (ntotal=87 ; ngirls=44 ; nboys=43) was selected in order to gain in sight the nutritional status of the population that consumes three meals at school, which makes75 % of their daily needs. Chosen is a school that has its own kitchen and is offering well-balanced daily meals, including one dairy meal and fruits, each day. Anthropometric measurements and monitoring of the nutritional offers were conducted two times per a school year, at the beginning of the year and at the end of the school year. Between two conducted measurement periods is expected that the pupils grow and develop. In order to ensure the objectivity of the results comparison, from the vales were determined percentile values for age, according the gender. To determine which parameter is the best to evaluate the nutritional status, the Bland-Altman plots were used. Observed parameters were: Stature-for-age, Weight-for-age percentiles and Body mass index-for-age percentiles. The Difference plot, Bland–Altman plot is a method of plotting data that is used in analytical chemistry and biostatistics to analyse the agreement between two or more different assays. In this study, this plot was used to analyse the agreement of following values: stature-for-age percentiles ; weight-for-age percentiles and body mass index-for-age percentiles. The Bland-Altman plots are displayed according the gender indicating pupils if they attend the program of extended stays in school, or not. If the differences are significant, this can be viewed as an indicator of the impact of school menus on pupil’s nutritional status. The results presented with Bland-Altman plots show that some differences are significant, like body weight vs. body mass index (p=0.0012) and body height vs. body mass index (p=0.0171). Also were indicated anthropometric measures of the examinees that caused those differences helping to identify which of the percentile curves is the most appropriate for the examined population group. No significant differences (p>0.05) in the nutrition status were observed concerning the extended day in school what is an indication of a high quality of the meals offered in the school.
