Sažetak
Colostrum is a form of milk produced by mammary glands in late pregnancy and few days after delivery. Scientists originally got interreseted in bovine colostrum because of its high antibody levels. The most common methods for preparative purification of proteins involve precipitation and chromatographic methods. There are numerous methods for purficiation of immunoglobulins from different media, but only few of them are used for bovine colostrum. For quality control of colostrum, the absence of antibiotics is important. Antibiotic tests used in dairy industry are designed for milk and there is no literature available about possibility of their usage on colostrum. Results of three frequent protein precipitation methods (by ammonium sulphate, sodium sulfate, caprylic acid) have showed that the most efficient is precipitation by 1, 96% and 3, 85% caprylic acid which results with concentration of 80% bovine IgG of total protein. Delvotest and Twinsensor, common antibiotic tests in dairy industry, have proven effective on bovine colostrum. Cation excange chromatography has proved as effective method for purification of immunoglobulins in bovine colostrum of antibiotics.
