Sažetak
The aim of this study was to present the production characteristics of hens and the effect of lutein added to feed for laying hens on some biochemical parameters in the blood. The study involved a total of 298 laying hens Tetra SL hybrids, divided into 3 groups, and lasted for 5 weeks. There was a slightly lower egg production and laying intensity and a higher feed consumption per day and per egg in the experimental groups. Lutein added to mixtures for laying hens did not significantly affect the values of biochemical parameters (P>0.05). It can be observed an increase in glucose (GLU) content and the reduction of albumin (ALB) content in the experimental groups. The lowest content of total (KOL) and HDL cholesterol was recorded in K200 group. The content of protein (PROT) and triglycerides (TGC) was similar between the experimental groups.
