The region of Gorski Kotar is in the western part of Croatia. The capacity and cost of the winter road service is determined by the traffic intensity and total lenght of roads in the region. The mean fresh snow depth varies between 50 cm and 450 cm. The average winter condition duration is 165 days per year.
