Sažetak
The purpose of this presentation is to analyze rural landscape transformations using surface finds obtained by a field survey project that spanned over several years. The territory of a Roman civitas Aenonae will be used as case study to demonstrate these issues. The surface finds are interpreted at two levels. The first level includes the classification of each individual site according to complexity and use intensity. The second level of interpretation includes the analysis of sites thus classified according to period and the type sites are assigned to. The patterns of space organization and land use and how these change through time is discussed at the second level of interpretation. The implications of observed patterns for socio-economic processes in Roman Aenona are addressed in the final section of the presentation.
