Sažetak
Aflatoxin B1 (AFB1), ochratoxin A (OTA) and sterigmatocystin (STC) are mycotoxins that can contaminate cosmetics and could penetrate trough human skin. Our hypothesis was that mixture of these toxins are more hazardous to skin cells even in small doses than single toxins. Therefore, their single and combined cytotoxic effects were tested in vitro on HaCaT cells by using MTT assay. STC showed the highest cytotoxic potential, followed by OTA, while AFB1 showed only weak cytotoxicity, never reaching the 50% decrease of cell viability. In small concentrations all toxin combinations exerted proliferative effect. Sinergy and additivity were observed for STC-OTA and AFB1- OTA combination, while AFB1-STC combination exerted antagonism.
