Sažetak
Substantial organ specific blood supply of internal organs may influence the concentration of various elements in the tissue and thus may pose a practical problem when particular dissected organ is used for element analysis. In order to estimate contribution of blood retained in internal organs commonly used in our studies, we compared the concentrations of 6 major (Na, K, Mg, P, S, Ca) and 12 trace (B, Fe, Mn, Co, Cu, Zn, Se, Cd, I, Hg, Pb, As) elements in liver, kidneys, and brain of 3-mo old nonperfused Wistar rats (N=10) and in the rats following the blood removal by the in vivo perfusion under general anesthesia with an isotonic, elements-free buffer (N=10). The levels of major and trace elements were determined in the nitric acid-digested tissues by ICP-MS. The data showed that the levels of some tested elements (B, Na, Ca and As in the liver ; Na, K, Ca, As, I and Hg in the kidneys ; Fe and As in the brain) are higher in nonperfused tissues, whereas others (Mg, P, S, Zn and Hg in the liver ; P and Pb in the kidneys ; Mg, P, S, K, Zn and I in the brain) are higher in the perfused tissues. Theerefore, the levels of major and trace elements in the tested tissues can be exsanguination-dependent in an element- and tissue-specific pattern.
