Sažetak
This report deals with the calibration of cone penetrometers which should be performed before they are used in soft soils. It aims to describe the level of accuracy that can be obtained in the test results, to explain how this is achieved and to outline the working principles of the equipment and its inherent sources of error. It was written for the companies and staff performing this type of test, the manufacturers of the equipment, and for engineers interpreting and using the results. The investigations form part of a larger project exploring the use of new in situ testing devices for investigations in loose to medium soils. The report is divided into 4 main sections: a) basic calibration ; 2) calibration of pore pressure response ; 3) calibration of temperature effects, and 4) calibration of seismic cones.
