Sažetak
Tagore's texts on literary criticism are permeated by his first-hand understandings and experiences of a writer. Fighting any kind of appropriating literature (and art in general) to aims foreign to its true vocation, he advocated a special ontological status of art. The latter can include segments of the "real" world, but it should by no means be judged by its standards.
