The eleven European Universities (University of Hannover, Hannover, Germany ; University of Turin, Turin, Italy ; Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Alnarp, Sweden ; University of Leuven, Leuven, Belgium ; University of Zagreb, Zagreb, Croatia ; University of Helsinki, Helsinki, Finland ; Institute for life, food and horticultural sciences and landscaping, Agrocampus Ouest, Angers, France ; Czech University of Life Sciences, Prague, Czech Republic ; Warsaw University of Life Sciences, Warsaw, Poland ; Universidade Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro, Vila Real, Portugal ; Wageningen University, Wageningen, The Netherlands) organized an ERASMUS Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP) course titled ‘BioSusHort: Potentials of using biodiversity for achieving a sustainable horticulture’ during three academic years (2011/12, 2012/13 and 2013/14). The course was accredited six European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (6 ECTS), addressed to master students studying horticulture or related study on their universities. “BioSusHort” included implementing new educational approaches and team work for 40 master students in each academic year. The international approach and participation of professors from different European Universities enabled students to learn skills and gain knowledge. The course included different tools for enhancing learning experience such as working in international groups for solving some punctual problems, preparing PREZI presentations, using mind mapping, participating in video conferences (VC), visiting horticultural industry and other interacting activities.
