Sažetak
The aim of this paper was to describe the principles and examples of designing products and environments for children based on ergonomic principles in order to reduce injuries and increase the safety of children. Products for children should meet high safety demands that are prescribed by standards. When designing products that challenge children, stimulate their development and promote safety and health of the child, the objectives of ergonomic design are often in contradiction, and therefore tradeoffs are necessary. It is necessary to analyze existing products and environment, define user requirements, observe the main risks and benefits of the product and identify priorities. The results of ergonomic design are the development of the appropriate ergonomic criteria for product design and complementing existing standards with ergonomic recommendations in order to increase children’s safety.
