Sažetak
Calculations of added resistance and wind resistance for a containership are performed under various weather conditions in North Atlantic routes with the aim of determining the ship fuel consumption as affected by weather conditions. A specific study of the wind effect on ship speed is made, including the effect of direc-tionality and its importance with respect of the wave added resistance is assessed. The attainable ship speed of a containership in different heading and sea-states is estimated.
