Sažetak
Today there is an evident need in power electronics for knowing the semiconductors temperature in operating conditions. Measurement of chip temperature is in working conditions almost impossible or very expensive, requiring separate circuitry for temperature measurement, interfering with power electronics circuitry. Very simple and accurate solution is modeling and simulation of power semiconductors thermal circuit with a simulation software, such as SIMPLORER. The paper describes the procedure of modeling and simulation of semiconductors thermal circuit based on RC-ladder model and using the different possibilities of SIMPLORER software. The most interesting part of the paper is comparison of simulated results with measurements made on TEMPFET - a device which can sense the chip temperature and turn-off itself nondestructively when the chip over temperature is over defined limits.
