Sažetak
The aim oft his study was to evaluate if the vagal cholienergic tone in patients with persistent allergic asthma is increased not only in acute asthma and if this cholienergic tone correlates with airway hyperresponsiveness (AHR). This study comprised 22 healthy control subjects and 40 patients with mild and moderate persistent allergic asthma (GINA II and GINA III). Diagnosis was established by clinical and functional follow-up skin prick test spirometry with bronchodilatator response to ipratropium bromide (IB) and methacholine challenge testing (MCT). Patients with persistent allergic asthm a have increased cholienergic tone and this tone correlates positive and weak with AHR.
