Sažetak
This paper analyses the needs of citizens in Croatia (identified by a survey) from the aspect of categories, perception of need satisfaction and importance over different time periods, and also considers the relations between needs and development. According to the research results, the needs could be a good indicator for creating a picture about society development, as the perception ability of individuals in the estimation of satisfaction of their own needs moves within an interval determined by the socio-economic development of a society.
