Sažetak
Protest is a complex method of a collective political action which expresses the voice of public on certain issues, policies or general socio-economic situation in the country or even globally. It challenges authorities when modes of institutional participation fail. This presentation provides results of the analysis of three protests organised in Bosnia and Herzegovina during winter 2014. We compared seven indicators: (1) protest triggers were deprivation of social services, poor socio-economic condition of the population in the county and corruption ; (2) long-term duration with different social groups involved (directly and indirectly affected by the problem) ; (3) emotional engagement of protesters varied in a range of pride to fright and aggression ; (4) (un)presence of violence ; (5) (non)existence of political management ; (6) clarity of political message and (7) negotiation with authorities. The main conclusion of the analysis defines two types of protests occurred in Bosnia and Herzegovina which differ according to the approach: expression of people’s discontent with political institutions ; and interest groups disguise behind social sensitivity who initiated the protests. The presence of street violence characterises the latter approach.
