Sažetak
A novel viscosity model for drifting snow is being developed to meet the CFD modeling requirements of drifting snow using a fully two-way coupled Eulerian-Eulerian formulation. Unlike other Eulerian-Eulerian models, it is hoped that this approach will allow explicit resolution of the saltation layer without resorting to empiricism. The formulation is presented here and initial results are promising, since they already show the expected Lagrangian behaviour of the particle phase even in an Eulerian frame.
